Jawahar Foundation and Research is a trust established in the year 1999 and registered on 1st March 1999 at Madurai. The Trustees Vision and Mission is Nation building activity by empowering the rural youth of India. Theni College Of Arts and Science is established by . Jawahar Foundation & Research at Theni, Veerapandi, a holy temple abode of Lord Gowmari Amman. It is located on a sprawling 32 acres of land surrounded by green fields, coconut groves and western ghats. The college buildings, hostels, laboratories, play grounds and gardens are laid out tastefully and functionally by architects, experienced academicians and educationists, rendering the premise a right place for living, learning and working. This institute is well connected to Theni, Cumbum, Bodinayakanur, Periyakulam, Kodaikanal and Madurai by frequent bus services. The college also runs its own buses for the benefit of its students and teachers.

JAWAHAR FOUNDATION AND RESEARCH EDUCATIONAL TRUST got the recognition of the NCTE, Southern Regional Committee, Bangalore in the year 2007 with the annual intake of 100 with both boys and girls and also got the affiliation of Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.
The aim and objectives of the trust is mold the young minds for their bright future and career.
The institution is one of the pioneer institutions in the field of teacher education in Theni District.
As quoted, “Education is the chief defiance in nations” the college gives prime importance to empowered education.
